Keeping your third-party insurance verification current is essential for uninterrupted rentals on ShareGrid. This guide walks you through how to handle an expired verification and upload a new or renewed policy for approval.
Understanding Insurance Expirations
Insurance verifications are tied to your policy’s active dates and usually expire annually. Once expired, you cannot rent equipment until the new policy is submitted and verified by ShareGrid.
How to Renew Your Expired Insurance Verification
If your insurance verification has expired, choose one of the following options:
Option 1: Have Your Insurance Provider Send a New Certificate
Contact your provider and request a Certificate of Insurance (COI) showing updated policy dates and coverage.
Ask them to email the COI directly to:
insurance@sharegrid.com
Option 2: Submit Your New Policy Through ShareGrid
Log in to your ShareGrid account.
Click your profile picture and select Settings.
Go to the Insurance tab on the left-hand menu.
Select the Third Party tab and click Set Up Third Party Insurance.
Enter your updated policy details.
Submit the information: ShareGrid will reach out to your insurer to verify coverage and dates of validity.
Once verified, a green checkmark and “Insurance Verified” will appear next to your policy.
Best Practices to Avoid Lapses
Set a calendar reminder for your policy’s expiration date.
Double-check that your policy includes:
Correct coverage limits
Accurate dates
Off-premises coverage if required
Proactively request a COI before your current one expires, and have it sent to insurance@sharegrid.com
By keeping your insurance information up to date and following these simple steps, you can prevent rental delays.
