If you’re using your own insurance on ShareGrid, you can verify it by submitting a Certificate of Insurance (COI). This guide explains how to do it properly, check your verification status, and avoid common problems.
What Is COI Verification?
COI verification is one way ShareGrid confirms your third-party insurance coverage. It’s an alternative to our standard method, which involves verifying your policy directly with your insurance agent or provider.
Once your COI is approved, you'll be able to select “Third-Party Insurance” when submitting rental requests.
Important: After your rental is approved, your provider must issue a COI in the rental owner’s name and send it to them before gear pickup.
How to Submit a COI to ShareGrid for Verification Purposes
Ask your insurance provider to email your COI directly to ShareGrid using the details below:
Recipient: ShareGrid Platforms, LLC
Address: 720 Seneca St, Suite 107, Seattle, WA 98101
Phone: (888) 318-4695
Email: Sent directly from your provider to insurance@sharegrid.com
Important: We cannot accept COIs for verification purposes from anyone other than the insurance agent or the insurance company. The COI must be emailed directly from the insurance company to ShareGrid.

Common Reasons COIs Are Rejected
The most common issue: Missing required coverage details, especially off-premises protection.
To avoid rejection:
Ensure your COI includes Business Personal Property (Off-Premises) or Rented Equipment (Off-Premises) coverage
Confirm that coverage limits and policy effective dates are clearly listed
Ask your provider to update and resend the COI if needed
Key COI Requirements
Your COI must include:
Business Personal Property (Off-Premises) or Rented Equipment (Off-Premises) coverage
Policy effective dates
All other requested information based on your ShareGrid profile
Final Tips
Always double-check your COI for accuracy before submitting
Incomplete or vague certificates are the most common cause of delays
Work closely with your provider to make sure all required details are included
