If you use a stage name, alias, or professional name different from your legal name, ShareGrid may still verify your account. You'll need to provide proof linking the two.

Types of Names You Can Use on ShareGrid:

  1. Legal Name: This should be your full name as recognized legally by government authorities.

  2. Registered Business Name: If operating a ShareGrid account under a business name, it must be officially registered, active, and in good standing. You must own the business or be authorized to use its name.

  3. Established Stage Name: If you're known professionally by a different name, such as a stage name, you can use that name, provided there is an established online presence associated with it.

  4. Preferred Names: You're welcome to use a preferred name, such as a middle name or nickname, as long as it reflects your identity accurately and is consistent with your persona.

Using Social Media for Alias Verification

If your ShareGrid account is under a public name (e.g., stage name or alias), follow these steps:

Provide Relevant Social Media Links

  • Share links to social profiles where your alias is clearly shown and connected to your work.

  • Choose platforms that support your professional identity (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).

Temporarily Update Your Display Name (Optional)

  • If your social profiles use only part of your name (e.g., "Amy" instead of "Amy Smith"), you can temporarily update your display name to match your ShareGrid account for easier verification.

  • You may revert the name after your account is verified.

Using Documentation to Verify a Stage Name

If you'd prefer not to use social media, or if you want to verify a stage name while keeping your legal name private, submit a Documentation Linking Your Legal Name and Alias directly to our staff.

Acceptable documents include:

  • Memberships in industry organizations (e.g., the Recording Academy)

  • Contracts, invoices, or credits from professional platforms (e.g., IMDb) showing both your alias and legal name

  • Other official documents clearly linking both names

Privacy Note: All information privately submitted to ShareGrid support staff is used solely for account verification and is not made public.
