ShareGrid aims to offer you great value while ensuring owners receive as many rentals as possible. We have implemented industry-standard discounts for multi-day production gear rentals to simplify things. Let's go over how pricing works:

Pick-Up and Drop-Off Days: No Charge:

Rental pick-up and drop-off days are not counted as shoot days and are intended for checking, prepping, and transporting your rental equipment. These days are not meant for shooting unless you book your rental's pick-up, drop-off, and shoot day all on one single day. Unless you make different arrangements with the owner, when you rent on ShareGrid, you will pick up the gear after 2 pm on the booked rental date and return it by noon on the booked return day.

Shoot Days: Rental Cost Based on Usage:

The rental cost is calculated based on the number of shoot days, excluding pick-up and drop-off days. Shoot days are the days you'll actively be using the equipment.

Example for One to Three Rental Days: You'll be billed at the rental's one-shoot-day rate for a standard one-day shoot over three rental days. Here's the breakdown:

Day 1: Rental pick-up day - Pick up 2 pm or later - Free of charge

Day 2: Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day

Day 3: Rental return day - Return by noon - Free of charge

Example for Three-Day Shoot Rental: For a standard three-day shoot rental over five days, you'll be billed at the rental's three-shoot-day rate. Here's the breakdown:

Day 1: Rental pick-up day - Pick up 2 pm or later - Free of charge

Day 2: Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day

Day 3: Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day

Day 4: Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day

Day 5: Rental return day - Return by noon - Free of charge

Multi-day Discounts:

Vehicle and Location Rentals:
Multi-day discounts DO NOT apply to vehicle and location rentals.

Equipment Rentals:
Multi-day discounts DO apply toward equipment rentals.

Weekend Discount Rule: Weekends Count as One Day. We offer a weekend discount where weekends are billed as one shoot day (Saturday + Sunday).

Example: If your shoot days fall on Saturday and Sunday, with pick-up on Friday and drop-off on Monday, you'll only be charged for one shoot day. Here's the breakdown:

Day 1 (Friday): Rental pick-up day - Pick up 2 pm or later - Free of charge

Day 2 (Saturday): Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day

Day 3 (Sunday): Shoot day - Free of charge

Day 4 (Monday): Rental return day - Return by noon - Free of charge

The Full-Week Discount Rule: Like many rental houses, we offer a weekly discount. If you rent gear for 6 to 7 days, you'll only be charged for 4 shoot days.

Please note that the full-week rule applies to up to 7 days of the gear being in your possession, meaning picking up on Monday and returning on Monday (at the standard pick-up/drop-off times) falls within the full-week rule.

The Full-Month Discount Rule: Similar to the weekly discount, we also offer a monthly discount. If you rent gear for 22 to 31 days, you'll only be charged for 12 shoot days.

We hope this explanation helps you understand how we calculate rental days and prices at ShareGrid. Please contact our friendly customer support team if you have further questions or need assistance. Happy renting!
