ShareGrid permits only one phone number per account. ShareGrid enforces this restriction to ensure smooth communication and secure transactions. Using the same phone number for multiple accounts could lead to messaging or transaction issues.

If you see an error saying your number is already in use, follow these steps to resolve the issue.

If You Control the Other Account

  • Log in with the email address linked to that phone number.

  • Go to SettingsID & SMS Verification.

  • Remove or change the phone number on that account.

  • On your new account, go to Settings, enter your number, click Send Code, and verify it using the SMS code sent to your phone.

If the Number Is Linked to an Account You Don’t Control

  • Contact ShareGrid Support and request the removal of the number from the old account.

  • Once it’s removed, add and verify your number on your account using the steps above.

Unsupported Numbers

You cannot use:

  • International numbers

  • Prepaid Numbers: Please be aware that VoIP numbers (such as Google Voice) are typically not supported, but may be considered upon request to ShareGrid Support. All requests are reviewed, but approval is not guaranteed.

Only valid US-based mobile numbers that can receive SMS codes are accepted.

However, VoIP numbers such as Google Voice can sometimes be used with prior approval from ShareGrid Support.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Forgot the email linked to your phone number? Use ShareGrid’s Forgot Email tool or contact Support.

  • Need to move your number to another account? Remove it from the current account first.

  • Need assistance setting up a VoIP number? Reach out to ShareGrid Support for help and approval. Keep in mind that VoIP numbers (like Google Voice) are usually not supported but may be considered upon request. All requests are reviewed, but approval is not guaranteed.
