If you're using your own third-party insurance, you need to issue a certificate of insurance (COI) directly to the owner of the equipment. You do not need to issue a COI to ShareGrid.

When you book a rental using third-party insurance, we will automatically send you an email with the owner’s contact information for use on the COI. Alternatively, you can ask the owner for the information they would like to appear on the COI. Please contact your insurance company directly for information about how to issue a COI.

If you're using a Short Term or Annual policy purchased through your ShareGrid account, we automatically issue certificates of insurance to each owner you are renting from after you book your rentals.

Damage Only and Damage + Theft coverage do not require any paperwork. These coverage options are serviced directly by ShareGrid, and you do not need to issue a COI.
