If a renter needs someone else to pick up or drop off gear on their behalf, they should add them to the rental as an Authorized Person.

They'll need to upload the Authorized Person's ID and contact information. Once the renter has done this, you'll see the following message from ShareGrid in the rental conversation thread:

"[Renter Name] has authorized [Authorized Person's Name] to pickup / dropoff on their behalf. Please check their ID at time of pick up." 

As the owner, please check the Authorized Person's ID as normal when you meet to exchange gear.
