First things first, the refund processing time may vary depending on the specific situation, so let's break it down for you:
Denied, expired, and unaccepted rental requests: If your rental request was not accepted, canceled, or expired, don't worry—your card won't be charged. You can quickly identify an unconfirmed request when the rental conversation status shows: 'Waiting for [name of owner].' This means the owner has not accepted the request yet.
Accepted rental requests: If your booked rental was canceled more than 48 hours before the start of your rental, the authorization charge on your card will be voided, and the funds will be returned to your payment card within 2-3 business days. However, if the cancellation happens within 48 hours of the rental start date, there might be a cancellation fee at the rental owner's request. Authorized hold payments not captured yet: A reversal refund will be processed if payment authorizations or holds are canceled. You won't see a refund credit on your statement, but you'll notice the original authorization hold drop off your statement after a few days. However, if you have any concerns, your card company should be able to release any holds if you contact them directly. In any case, the card company can verify whether or not the transaction is a payment authorization or charge if contacted directly by the cardholder.
Buy and Sell refund: If you're a Buyer and have returned the purchased item(s), once the Seller receives them and our staff confirms the condition of the return, we'll issue a refund back to your payment method used.
