As a marketplace facilitator, ShareGrid is required to collect and remit sales tax on rentals in California. However, if you paid sales tax when you first purchased your item, we are not required to collect sales tax on every rental.

If you’ve paid sales tax upon purchasing your item, follow these steps to remove all future rental sales tax for that item:

  1. Click on Manage Listings.

  2. Select the item.

  3. Go to the Rental tab.

  4. Check the exemption checkbox.

By following these steps, you can ensure your item is exempt from rental sales tax in California. If you have any questions or need further assistance, our support team is here to help!
