Navigating sales tax on online platforms can sometimes be a maze. Let’s make it simpler for you!

Why Is There a Sales Tax?

ShareGrid, like all online marketplaces, follows mandatory state laws regarding sales tax. We didn't introduce this – it’s a standard procedure that every online marketplace adheres to.

When and Where Will You See This Tax?

An estimated sales tax will pop up in your shopping cart during checkout for certain rental and sales transactions headed to or within the states mentioned below. No surprises!

States Where ShareGrid Handles Sales Tax:

If your transaction is connected to any of the following states, either because you're located there or because your items are shipped there, ShareGrid will handle the sales tax for you:

  • Georgia

  • Texas

  • Washington

  • New Jersey

  • Florida

  • Oklahoma

  • Maryland

  • Pennsylvania

  • California

  • New York

What Does ShareGrid Do?

We don't just show you the tax; we do the heavy lifting:

  • Calculate the appropriate sales tax based on state-specific rates.

  • Collect it at the time of the transaction.

  • Remit (or pay) it to the respective state.

We aim to keep your experience on ShareGrid seamless. Need more clarity or have other questions? Feel free to reach out. We're here to help!
