At ShareGrid, we prioritize providing a seamless and enjoyable rental experience by focusing on local transactions. This approach allows renters and equipment owners to meet in person, fostering trust and convenience. You can easily search for the necessary equipment based on location, making the pickup and return process straightforward.
Shipping, however, remains at the discretion of individual owners, who may choose to ship their equipment under specific arrangements.
Additionally, ShareGrid promotes direct communication between renters and equipment owners, ensuring clarity about delivery or pickup details. This improves transparency and helps foster trust among users.
Renters should understand their liability when choosing to ship equipment. It is important to confirm that their insurance covers rented items during transit and to thoroughly discuss liability terms with the equipment owner to prevent any misunderstandings.
Renters should also be aware that not all coverage options include protection for items in transit. It is highly recommended to ask insurers directly about the details of the coverage, including any value limits, and to consider additional coverage options if they are dealing with higher-value items.
Neither ShareGrid's Damage Only nor Damage + Theft damage waivers cover shipping damage.
Current Shipping Options:
Shipping Policy: ShareGrid currently does not support shipping. Owners can choose to ship their rental equipment at their own discretion. This is a private arrangement between owners and renters and is not facilitated or endorsed by ShareGrid at this time. However, we plan to support nationwide shipping soon. If you want to apply to ship your gear across the country, please complete this form: https://sharegrid.typeform.com/to/m0klOdYr
Local Delivery: Some owners may provide local delivery for an additional fee. Look for the green 'truck' icon on their rental equipment pages. If you find an owner offering delivery, inquire about their rates.
Liability for Shipping: If shipping is involved, renters are fully responsible for the equipment during transit. It is advisable to verify whether their insurance adequately covers shipped items to safeguard against potential risks.
Renters are fully responsible for any damages or loss that happen during transit, from the moment it is shipped by the owner to its safe return. Both parties should make sure clear terms are agreed upon before moving forward with shipping arrangements.
